Pyramid of Ibi
Ibi was a pharaoh of the 8th Dynasty and ruled for 2 years sometime around 2150 BCE.
If the pyramid of Ibi should be noted for anything, that would be that this is the only pyramid we have from the 8th dynasty. There are listed 27 kings in this dynasty which lasted for 146 years. Ibi is supposed to have been in power for only 2.
His pyramid was small compared to all other completed ones, just 21 metres high. It appears as if the pyramid was never cased, although this was planned. Today it is in a very ruinous state; there are 3 piles of mud and limestone chips lying around the burial chamber.
The burial chamber was decorated with Pyramid Texts, and the sarcophagus was placed in a huge granite block. The chamber is now protected underneath modern concrete (see middle of top picture).
