SAQQARA
Pyramid of Sekhemkhet

Sekhemkhet was a pharaoh of the 3rd Dynasty and ruled for 9 years, from 2648 until 2640 BCE.
Visiting the Pyramid of Sekhemkhet is really for those intent on seeing all of the pyramids. It was discovered as early as 1950, and it is suggested that Imhotep can have been its architect. But this construction was never completed, and Sekhemkhet, who ruled for 8 years after Zoser, was possibly never buried here either.
Inside the pyramid, if you manage to find the entrance, there is a sarcophagus made from alabaster.
