Index / Ancient World  Some of the most important early civilizations belong the MENA region, in particular those of Egypt and Mesopotamia. Many would say that the history of modern man has its very beginning here. Around these civilizations, other great cultures emerged, all greatly influence by Egypt and Mesopotamia, yet with many unique characteristics. From these civilizations we have not only monuments, but also many of the central concepts that form humans of today, whether it be law or religion.
