Getting around

Spain has a well established system of railways and buses. In general, railways offer more comfort, while buses have better connections for smaller destinations and more departures. There is relatively little difference in prices, but fast railways are generally more expensive than buses.
Renting car in the south of Spain has many advantages. Prices are below both the rest of Europe and North Africa. As an example, renting a car in Spain costs about half of Moroccan prices. Expect prices to start at about €150 per week ($180). Gasoline is slightly below middle European level. Traffic i Spain represents no problem, although you should be alert when driving during rush hour in cities, or out on small and narrow roads.
Bringing your own car represents no problem, although the journey through Spain is trapped by a large number of expensive road tolls.
Motorcycles for rental are available from outlets in the large cities, at a rate slightly less than that for cars.
Hitchhiking is just a bad idea in Spain as elsewhere. If you go for it, expect long waits. An endurance test during summer months.
Airplanes are not good options when travelling between the sights of this guide; distances are to short, and it will cost a lot more than other means of transportation.
Southern Spain is considered to be very attractive for bike cycling holidays. But the terrain will be too much for those not in good shape. The best is to bring your own bike.
