BASICS
Costs

Compared to the countries of North Africa (which is the region Adventures cover) Spain is far more expensive for budget travellers. Everything is more expensive, food and lodging just as much.
But for those expecting a certain comfort, like a nice room with a good bath, lodging is in fact sometimes of better value than in neighbouring Morocco. Food is relatively much more expensive even in this class. The only drawback, is that the typical friendly 2 star hotel is not alway easily available in some of the cities covered in this guide.
Luxury is available at virtually any price level in Spain, and the more you pay the more you get. Sky seems to be the limit here. It is especially on the coast that this applies.
In general, Spain is slightly cheaper than continental Europe, and about half the price of northern Europe.
Transportation is affordable compared to the rest of Europe, but terribly expensive compared to Morocco. But the standard is generally far better, so this will be redeeming for many.
Car rental in Spain is very affordable compared to any neighbouring country, even in North Africa.
