Through the 20th century, the population of Tunisia doubled 5 times, which is one of the lowest growths in the MENA region.
As of 2009, the population growth is 1.0% per year, but this figure will go down, as fertility rate is 1.7 children per mother, which is below the critical level for stable population figures and the median age is 29 years.
