King of Ancient Egypt 1504-1492 BCE, 12 years, the 3rd ruler of the 18th Dynasty.
Tuthmosis 1 was an active military leader, and lead actions against Nubia, as well as Mesopotamia (reaching as far as the Euphrates River (Carchemish)).
Most of his time as a Pharaoh was used on great building projects. He came to be the first Pharaoh buried in the Valley of the Kings. At his death, he was succeeded by his son, Tuthmosis 2.
