Extinct Semitic language of ancient Ammon.
There is minimal of information available to their language, only a few inscriptions from between 9th and 6th century BCE. These inscriptions come very close to Biblical Hebrew, with some few similarities to Aramaic. From this, it cannot be clearly determined whether Ammonite was a language independent of these two.
Moabite, the language of Moab to the immediate south, was close to Ammonite.
