BASICS:
Visas and Passports

All nationals need a visa to enter the Sudan. Stamps from Israel should still be the same to the Sudan as before, and if you have one like that, or if there are anything in you travel documents that can make the border personnel think you have visited Israel (a new passport, f.ex.), then you could get denied access to the Sudan, and bribing won't help you much.
Getting the visa is quite demanding, even though you could be lucky and get one at the border town of Wadi Halfa. The best possible advice to give, is that you check out the recommended procedures for your nationality, before you start travelling. And getting a visa while you're home, is far more pleasant than waiting somewhere on your journey, just for a visa.
Visas last about 1 month, but extensions are really not that hard to get. That is, you'll have to stay in Khartoum to get it, and leave two days for the process to come through. The cost of visas are not always the same, but count on spending US$30-40.
