AÏT HERBIL:
Rock paintings

Aït Herbil's rock paints are so little visited that it is delightfully difficult to find anyone in the village across the stream that even knowns where they are. I was fortunate enough to meet the local teacher, who was strikingly fluent in foreign languages, considering how remote this place is.

Rock paintings in Ait Herbil

Getting to the rock paintings involve a slightly dangerous climb. Beholding the paintings is made difficult from the same. You stumble over them while balancing along a narrow ledge, but there is nowhere to step back. The picture you see above is made only by holding the camera as far back as possible, while trying to point in the right direction, while concentrating on not falling down. It's size is an impressive 1 metre wide.
