DENDERA:
Sacred lake

Dendera, Egypt

The Sacred Lake contained water used for ritual ablutions. It now is empty from water, and full of trees and birds instead. Still it is among the most beautiful of any sacred lakes around Egypt.
During the original festival of Osiris' resurrection, the priests released 34 barques and 365 tiny floats, each one with a candle on it.
