Lari people
Also called: Larestani

Iranian people native to the southern regions of modern Iran. Estimates to their number vary between 100,000 (Ethnologue) and 300,000 (Wikipedia), ca. 200,000 seem least incorrect. The form the majority population in their homeland, Larestan, main city is Lar with ca. 70,000 inhabitants.
The Lari have their own language, also called Lari. They are Muslims, divided between Sunni and Shi'i.
The Lari are not the same as the Lors, that live to the northwest.
