Health services of Jordan are of fairly good quality, but still under development. Still not all inhabitants of Jordan have good access to hospitals and health stations.
Education of Jordan is free and compulsory, and starts at the age of 5. Jordan has a system of secondary schools, where there are about as many of each sex represented. Jordan has three universities, in Amman, University of Jordan (1962) and Mu'tah University (1981). In Irbid, the Yarmuk University was established in 1976. There are about 40,000 students attending the universities and other institutions of higher education.
