Brahui


Dravidian language native of Pakistan. In Iran, it is the daily language of some 25,000, in the Central Sistan and Baluchistan provinces, near Pakistan. In total it is spoken by 2.5 million.
Brahui is strongly influenced by Balochi, the Iranian language that dominates in the same region where Brahui is spoken. Despite being as large as it is, it is classified as being endangered. Brahui in Iran, however, is presently vital and fast increasing.
Brahui is a written language, using a modified Arabic script.
