Assyria /
Religion

Religion of ancient Assyria. What we know is derived mainly from historical and archaeological material dating back to the Middle and Neo periods. Assyrian religion is usually referred to as Babylonian and Assyrian religion, as there are few changes between the Babylonians and Assyrias in concepts and organization.
There are still a few differences, then mainly in which gods were favoured. In Assyrian religion, the god Ashur was the most prominent, a national god for the Assyrians, and not revered by the Babylonians.
